Ice Room, Bangi

Located next to PappaRich in Bangi, this white-green themed cafe really attracted my attention as I'm pro-green..hehe..Brought here by my friend, at first I thought they only serve ice kacang-like ice-cream..But after browsing through the menu, I realized that they have so many varieties for us to try..Their serve style is like Old Town White Coffee where they provided us with a sheet of order form and a pencil..After finished jotting down our orders, we called the waiters..

The menu....
Attractive aight??
The place: They used white and light green as their theme color and used lots of abstract furnitures and designs..Really attractive and vibrant. And comfy too..Free wifi is provided. Bring your laptop with you while eating ice-cream!

the front cafe..
the front door..oooh..nice!

The foods: They have varieties of appetisers and main course. From chinese to malay to even japanese. And of course their signature is the ice-creams..

Lemon Tea
Come with cute color-matched stirrer..with slices of lemon..
Lemon Tea RM4.50
Lime Juice
Also come with cute color-matched stirrer..Not really sour and not really sweet although I would prefer my lime juice to be sazzy soury..hehe..but it's okay though..
Lime Juice RM2.80

Crispy Beancurd Skin Roll
This is my instant favorite! The beancurd is really crispy and with a hint of sweetness..Rolled inside it is a big chunk of shrimp! The shrimp is really fresh and sweet..I knew it because if I ate shrimps that are not fresh, I will get gatal-gatal instantly..Served with the rolls is splashes of Thai sauce..yummy!
Crispy Beancurd Skin Roll RM6.50
Hong Kong Wanton Soup Noodle
The portion is huge! Very satisfactory although I found the soup is quite bland. Needs more flavor. But the wantons is simply delightful. The shrimps are fresh and sweet. The noodles are springy..just the way I like it.. Cool..
Hong Kong Wanton Soup Noodle RM8.90
Black Pepper Chicken Chop
At first sight of the dish,I was skeptic..The chicken look too pale..But after the first bite, the taste is delightful. One of the best I ever tasted.. But the black pepper sauce is too thick and too little..It would great if they serve more of the sauce and less thick too..The salads are fresh and crisp..Yum!
Black Pepper Chicken Chop RM11.90
The Nut Case
My favorite! It was like eating frozen peanut butter but less creamier (which I love!)..Not really sweet..Sprinkled with crushed peanuts and jellies,I polished them all..Nom nom..
The Nut Case RM7.90
The VerdictRecommended!! I love everything that I ate and will definitely coming back again..Their service is quite fast too!..In fact,I'm craving for them right now..
The price: The prices are okay..Average. I won't call them cheap..But hey, they're worth it!

p/s: Any experiences you guys wanna share with me, please don't hesitate to leave your comments!! Really looking forward to them!

Manhattan Fish Market

I brought my family to this restaurant..They never eat here before..As it's quite pricey..And they are also quite curious about this place as they always see long queues whenever or wherever they passed Manhattan Fish Market..So I ordered a few dishes for them to try..

This is their current promo..until 2/1/2011..
Crab-mas Bisque
I didn't tasted it because I'm allergic to crab..But from my family experiences, it was creamy and thick..It was tasty..I can see crab meat bits inside the soup..My dad like it so much..He slurped the soup until 'licin'..He personally likes the croutons added on top of the bisque..

The crab-mas bisque (RM8.90)
Mister Claws' Sharing Platter
The waiter suggested we order this instead of my usual Manhattan Seafood Platter For 2 (RM49.90)..It has bigger portion..and crabs to replace fish nuggets..So I relented and ordered it..Coming along with the platter are 2 ice lemon teas and 2 mushroom soups per set..It also came with 2 set of scissors and a bowl of lemon water for cutting the crab and for washing your hand (I think!)..Inside this giant platter, you will find Alaskan Snow Crab Legs, Fried Oyster,Fried Calamari, Manhattan Flaming Prawns, broccoli, carrots, corns, garlic herb rice (my fav!) and chips..

It's like a magic show to 1st-timers..hehehe..
Mister Claws' Sharing Platter (RM85.90)
To be honest,I'm quite disappointed,I didn't feel the satisfaction after eating and some more, I'm not a crab eater..I think half of the platter's price went to the crab legs. It's very pricey..

Creamy Seafood Pasta
The flavor is quite bland to me..I would personally prefer more creamy sauce added onto the pasta..Maybe it's the Italian way of eating pasta..More pasta than the sauce..But still,I dig the calamari and the fish fillets they throw onto the fettuccine..
Creamy seafood pasta (RM19.90)
Shrimp My Olio
When the pasta came, the smell is soo good that I couldn't resist digging into this dish asap. At first forkful, it's instantly becoming my favorite..The shrimps are so tender and the flavors are evenly mixed with the spaghetti..Just the way I like my pasta to be..But after a few forkfuls, I realized 1 thing, it has bitterly-spicy aftertaste as it has chillies flakes, coriander and garlic..oh no!
Shrimp My Olio (RM17.90)
Oreo Kaboom!
Creamy and not overly sweet..Crushed Oreo with vanilla ice-cream..I like!

Oreo Kaboom! (RM 9.90)
Citrus Mint
Not sweet and is very cooling..not my favorite though..hint of lemon and mints..
Citrus Mint (RM7.90)
Mushroom Soup
This is the best mushroom soup I ever tasted so far..Very creamy, rich and thick..Full with mushroom flavors..With generous mushroom bits..yum yum!
Mushroom Soup (RM5.90)
The price: As I said so many times throughout this entry,it's quite pricey, you have to spare around RM50++..The prices are also subject to 5% GST and 10% service charges..
The food: I personally like their Garlic Herb Rice and their grilled platters (which I didn't order during that day)..You should also try Manhattan Flaming Prawn..come with a free 'show'..hahaha..and owh..their frizzies and juices are refillable..worth it!Their mayonnaise,is superb..my mom polished it of..all of them..Will definitely come again but not for the crab platter..wink wink..

Clinique 1-2-3 Steps

Watching my BFF's facial complexion getting better after using Clinique (plus 2 of my friends are Clinique users), I was tempted to try them. I've tried using hers first, loving the clean and oil-free feeling which I failed to get using Loreal White Perfect..I immediately went and bought the large set of their 3-steps which cost me bloody RM343..Which is my fault..I should have bought the trial kit instead..

Mine is Type 3: Oily-combination skin

Liquid facial Soap:
Quite drying for my face. My skin feels tight after using it. After several months, I started to suffer serious breakouts starting from my forehead then spread to my cheeks. To my utmost horror, they even left dark scars on my face. I sought for explanation from the consultants. They claimed that this regime is cleansing toxins from our skins, that is why I suffered from breakouts. But the problem is, I don't suffer breakouts during the early times using Clinique. The acnes started to appear excessively after 3-4 months of usage. And the acnes are very persistent. Not even spot-treatment plus acne mask can help.

Clarifying Lotion:
My skin doesn't feels dry after using it. It does lift away dead skin cells as you can see yellowish stains on your cotton pad. Very refreshing. But I'm not really fond of its smell. Reek with alcohol

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:
The best moisturizer. No heavy or oily feeling after applying it. It does moisturized my skin but at the same time I felt very comfortable on my oil-prone skin. It leave your skin smooth to the touch..Velvety feeling after applying it.Loving it!

Pros:
This 3-steps regime is REALLY worth of your money. Yes,you have to pay quite a lot for the first time, but with proper usage, these skincare can last around 1 year. As they claimed, you only pay RM1.62 per day..Their consultants are super friendly..They DO understand if you can't afford that particular product at that time. My favourite consultant is at Metrojaya Midvalley named Anis. They even give you lots of sample for you to try..No kidding..They have database system..If the products suit you, they will put them in your database..So if next time you have extra cash to buy for example, the Superfit foundation (which I love!), just refer to the database and you can immediately buy it without having to go through another painful (not literally) hours searching for the best shade.

Cons:
After 4 months using them with no signs of my pimples reducing (I've tried so many extra treatments!), I've concluded that Clinique is NOT suitable for me. I've to stop and continue back with Loreal White Perfect. My pimples drastically reduced (even without the extra treatments!) except for my dark scars.

I have leftover/used Clinique 3-Steps to let go..
Please bear in mind..This is Type 2 Liquid Facial Soap..Custom made for me.
Clarifying Lotion Type 3
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
The freebies I got from Clinique
I'm letting go all of them for RM30. Please email me if you're interested.

Kapitan Restaurant, Queensbay, Penang

Suggested by my non-Penangite cousin, I went there to try this delicious tandoori claimed by him..Truthfully, I didn't even realized that Kapitan is existed (shame on me!)..
The verdicts??
The foods: Their tandoori chicken is waaaay out of this world..The best tandoori chicken I ever tasted so far..The chicken is so tender, moist and full with flavours..Eating the chicken alone is satisfying..The cheese nan is okay but not the best..The briyani rice is also quite delicious..Their fried rice is surprisingly finger-licking-good delicious. Not your typical mamak-styled fried rice, considering Kapitan Restaurant is a mamak restaurant..In fact, I'm craving for them right now..If only they have Kapitan here in KL...
The price: The tandoori set is around RM8 and above..Reasonable price..
The atmosphere: Nothing extraordinaire..Typical nasi kandar restaurant..
I'm truly enjoying the meal that I forgot to take more pictures..
Delicious chicken fried rice
Will definitely coming back again..No doubt..

Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul

Yeay!!My very first review (hidung kembang,riak-riak sikit..hehehe..)..Hokay,this stall is famous to most of Penangites..But heck, like I care..I still wanna review it..Located at in-between street far ahead of the famous Chowrasta (please forgive me if I spelled the name wrongly)..Chowrasta Market,at Rope Walk is famous with pickled fruits (yummy!) and the way-cheaper-than-in-supermarket roasted chestnuts (direct translate from Malay word, the day-dreaming fruit..hehehe)..
I went there for the sole purpose of buying pickled fruits, but then my partner suggested that there is a famous cendol stall for me to try..I relented at first but then I changed my mind..
Maybe I can try their ice kacang next time
Yaah..even Phua Chu Kang came here....
The verdicts???
The cendol: 9 out of 10..It's delicious! No doubt of it..The vendor doesn't skimped in putting the ingredients..But I still felt that something is missing but I can't pinpointed it..
The price: RM1.80 per bowl..So cheap yet rich with ingredients
The uniqueness: You have to savour the cendol while standing..There is no tables for you to sit around..Yet people doesn't mind..I don't mind.. RECOMMENDED..Urm...not for people with legs/back problems eh??If you must try, please take it home..
Crowded..we have to wait for a while..these people doesn't mind eating while standing
Finally!!!Digging in the green golds..Yum!
I will definitely come again~

Omo omo omo..

A lil' bit about me:
1. First of course (did I just mention it like thousand times??ok,exaggerated a bit), I'm NOT a professional reviewer..I give honest reviews based on my personal experiences. Different people have different opinions..
2. I may use excess rojak words (but will try my best to use 100% english, my english is not super good T_T)
3. I always think that reviews are extremely helpful guidelines especially to those who has skimpy pocket (like me!) before we go and splurge and then regret (like me!again~)..
4. I tends to babble a lot..Please forgive and bear with me. Will try my best to hold myself from babbling rubbish (sila katok saya dengan senduk!)..
5. Loves to read and write (iye betol tak tipu punya)
6. Hokay, I already babbled~
STOP.....
